The Montana Partnership with Regions for Excellence in STEM (MPRES) project is designed to help teachers implement the K-12 Framework for Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Teachers who engage in the project will be on the cutting-edge of science education and will be able to be teacher leaders in their districts following the program. The MPRES project leaders are seeking teachers who have an interest in participating in an online graduate course and regional Professional Learning Community meetings about the K-12 Framework for Science Education and NGSS for school-year 2014-2015.
What do I have to do? You will be assigned to a regional trainer who will facilitate online and in-person PLC meetings monthly. In addition, you will complete an online graduate course with Dr. John Graves through Montana State University-Bozeman. You will travel to Butte or Billings for face-to-face workshops. You will be expected to try out new techniques within your classroom and report back to the project team regarding your implementation.
Will I be paid? The MPRES grant will cover participant costs including: payment for the online course; materials; and travel, hotel and per diem expenses.
When do I start? The first workshop will be in Butte on October 10th and 11th.
How do I register? Please return the application to Arlene Alvarado at Montana Tech via email at aalvarado@mtech.edu or mail to: A. Alvarado, Cfwep.Org, Montana Tech, 1300 West Park, Butte, MT 59701

Just happened upon this website and since I’m teaching middle school math and science, I need this type of help with the new Science Standards coming out. Very exciting!
Thanks for pulling this together. FYI links worked great.
Thank you Robyn! Cfwep.Org is glad to always support science education. Please let us know how your classes work out.
