Artwork and/or photographs should have a specific ecological, aquatic, or riparian connectedness theme. A few examples of this include artwork that:
- Conveys the literal messages of “only rain in the drain” or “water drains to creek;”
- Shows the connection between our storm drains and Silver Bow and Blacktail Creeks;
- Contains ecological or riparian elements such as native trout, wildlife, aquatic macroinvertebrates, native plants, and water;
- Conveys the history and significance of our waterways.
Art will be converted to a digital medium and will be printed on a weather and fade resistant wrap. Art can be created digitally using tools such as Adobe Illustrator or it can be created using physical materials. We will be using a large scanner to transfer physical art work to a digital medium.
The Department of Transportation does not allow artwork that faces the street to contain words or other loud elements to ensure traffic safety. You may include these elements on the sidewalk side of the artwork. Logos are not permitted anywhere on the artwork. Correct proportions are illustrated in Figure 1.
Art will be selected by a committee of sponsors, community members, and the CFWEP team.
